About us

ClassToCareer is a not-for-profit service provided for free to high schoolers interested in making the connection between their classes and their dream career. We understand that not all schools or families are able to provide proper guidance for students to make the connection between school and career dreams. While some schools and families have a lot of resources and networks to help their students, there are many students who do not have access to such school resources or personal networks. ClassToCareer seeks to help such students for free by connecting them to volunteer guidance counselors, university advisors, and industry professionals across the United States so that students can get guidance on the value of the classes they are currently taking at their school and also know what kinds of classes they need for their dream profession.

ClassToCareer is a student-led initiative that understands that all schools are not the same in terms of the resources they provide students. It is also driven by the idea that learning can be more fun and beneficial if students know about the huge career opportunities that come with the classes they are asked to take. In a rapidly changing world, it is good for students to know that their classes can translate into things meaningful in their life. In a similar way, for students with career dreams, it is good for them to know the kinds of knowledge and skills they need to cultivate very early in high school.

How Does It Work?

All the services of ClassToCareer are free. All the counselors and mentors are volunteers. 

For students: simply send us an email or fill out our request form. Once we receive your request, we will find a counselor and mentor that best fits you and facilitate communication between you and the mentor. All communications happen through ClassToCareer.

For Volunteers: To be a volunteer you must meet at least one of these requirements: 

  1. be a school guidance counselor
  2. be a counselor, advisor, or professor at a college, community college or university
  3. be an industry professional with at least five years of professional experience
 

To volunteer, please send us an email or fill out our request form. You must use your professional work email to communicate with us. We will not accept emails from personal accounts such as gmail, hotmail, etc.
